Where to From Here?
As of "A Lesson Learned Late", I acknowledged that school was not the right path for me two years ago, that I could not have succeeded. I also alluded to the fact that I cannot live my entire life without school, and that I must return eventually. So, where to from here? The Next DecadeI am going to spend a total of seven years learning what life without school has to teach me, and also preparing for my return. I am already two years into this seven-year time span. In the remaining time, I will work, improve my job skills, work on making myself a more valuable asset to the company, and strive to increase my salary. This will allow me to save my money in order to support myself later on. Think of it as stocking up for the winter. Simultaneously, I will be self-educating as much as possible on whatever subjects suit my whim. At age 25 I will return to the academic world full time, spending four years going to college. I will be working toward a degree, but that will be a secondary goal. My primary concern will be to learn as much as I can about as many subjects as possible. At age 29, after graduation, I will return to the real world, hopefully much better off for my trouble. I will spend the remainder of that year re-acclimating to working life, and by age 30, will be settled in and ready to make plans for another decade. I can't guarantee that my plan won't change, in fact, I'm fairly certain it will. But as of now, this is where I'm headed. I have direction now. -DeThroneD |
